Civil Field Engineer

Responsibilities

• Assist with processes and reviews of interpretations of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision
• Prepare work plans and work packages
• Supervise field surveying and work layout support including elevation and control points
• Compile and process daily labor timesheets
• Prepare Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) and participate in safety reviews
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsite
• Perform material takeoffs from drawings and contract documents
• Gather and prepare data for submittals to customers, vendors, and subcontractors
• Prepare purchase orders and subcontracts
• Maintain project recordkeeping including daily reports, RFIs, and photographs
• Report data into the job cost system and assist in reviewing cost reports
• Generate change orders and as-built data
• Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field
• 3-5 years of construction field or office engineering experience
• Experience supporting concrete or civil operations
• Experience with infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, dams, water/wastewater)
• Ability to read and analyze engineering plans and specifications
• Ability to access construction sites in various climates and environments
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as required
