Civil Estimating Lead

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead complete estimates for self-performed construction scopes including heavy civil, highway, bridge, rail, and utilities
• Review owner plans and specifications to develop comprehensive construction plans and cost estimates
• Lead, train, hire, and develop a team of estimators while providing coaching and mentoring
• Participate in constructability reviews and collaborate with project managers, design engineers, and superintendents
• Implement win strategies and present estimates to executive management and clients
• Conduct site investigations and walkdowns to identify unusual conditions or problems
• Manage subcontractor and vendor selection processes and stay updated on industry trends and new equipment

Requirements

• BS in engineering, construction, estimating, or a similar field
• 10+ years of related estimating experience in the infrastructure market
• 5+ years of experience leading estimating teams and providing mentorship
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work onsite in the Brentwood, TN office and travel to project sites as needed
• Strong attention to detail, leadership, and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with InEight Estimate
• Extensive experience with infrastructure self-performed construction projects (earthwork, drainage, structural/bridge, concrete, asphalt, or underground utilities)
