About the role
Responsibilities
- Support implementation and data quality control for AASHTOWare Bridge Management (BrM)
- Verify bridge inventory, GIS/location data, and inspection datasets
- Assist with basic engineering analysis of ratings, condition data, and deterioration trends
- Help with bridge load rating inputs, calculations, and capacity documentation
- Compile data and background materials for project scoping and capital budget justifications
- Review consultant submissions, inspection reports, and maintenance records
- Develop SOPs, checklists, and asset management workflows
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree in civil engineering
- Permanent civil service status or exam eligibility for #6116
- Strong foundation in structural engineering and civil infrastructure
- Ability to work with spreadsheets, databases, asset management tools, and GIS
- Interest in bridge inspection, condition tracking, and asset deterioration
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
- Familiarity with AASHTOWare BrM
- Experience with bridge inspection or structural plans
