Civil Engineer - Water/Wastewater

Responsibilities

• Lead or contribute to civil design packages for feasibility, concept, and detailed design in water/wastewater programmes
• Develop and review civil engineering deliverables including calculations, models, drawings, and technical reports
• Manage flood risk, erosion risk management, and sustainable drainage systems
• Conduct site visits for data acquisition and meet with site operators
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and technology providers to ensure practical and sustainable solutions
• Support design reviews and provide technical support during delivery and commissioning phases
• Contribute to business development, bid preparation, and recruitment efforts

Requirements

• BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership
• Experience in civil engineering design, ideally within the UK water industry
• Proficiency in Civil 3D, hydraulic modelling tools, GIS, and BIM-enabled workflows
• Understanding of CDM designer duties and sustainable engineering principles
• Experience in consultancy or engineering environments
• Ability to travel to operational works and construction sites
• Right to work in the UK

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in water reuse, recycling, or bioresources/sludge treatment
• Experience in energy from waste design
• Proven track record in business development and work-winning
• Experience in people management and mentoring teams
