About the role
Responsibilities
- Support field construction oversight to ensure work meets project requirements and quality standards
- Coordinate with contractors, inspectors, and stakeholders to resolve field issues
- Monitor and document civil construction activities including earthwork, grading, and utility installations
- Oversee catenary pole foundation and cable trough installation
- Review construction work for compliance with plans, specifications, and safety requirements
- Track construction progress and provide field reporting and documentation
- Coordinate material deliveries, staging, and field logistics
- Support construction engineering, inspection, and quality assurance activities
- Assist with identifying and resolving construction risks and issues
- Support project closeout, punch list development, and documentation turnover
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field
- 2-5 years of experience in construction, engineering, or field inspection on infrastructure projects
- Experience with civil infrastructure, transportation, utility, or rail projects
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and construction schedules
- Proficiency with construction documentation software and Microsoft Office 365
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites
- Ability to work full-time in a field-based construction environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
- Experience with rail, transit, or railroad infrastructure
- Experience with catenary systems or track-related infrastructure
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, Procore, Primavera P6, or Autodesk Construction Cloud
