Civil Engineer, Data Center Design

About the Company

Fluidstack is focused on delivering massive scale compute infrastructure for AI. The company acquires power, designs and builds data centers, and operates them with teams spanning hardware and software to accelerate the deployment of frontier compute.

Responsibilities

• Own the civil engineering workstream across a multi-site, multi-state development portfolio from site screening through construction completion
• Lead civil due diligence for greenfield and conversion sites including topography, drainage, utilities, soils, and environmental constraints
• Direct geotechnical investigations by scoping RFPs, reviewing boring programs, and interpreting reports
• Review traffic studies and offsite infrastructure requirements to flag civil cost and schedule risks
• Develop and maintain civil basis of design, standard details, and specifications
• Manage external civil consultants through the Issued for Construction (IFC) phase
• Coordinate with geotechnical engineers, local authorities, GCs, and project teams as the site civil authority

Requirements

• Experience owning civil engineering on large-scale site development, ideally on the owner or developer side
• Proficiency in running civil due diligence and interpreting geotechnical reports
• Experience managing external civil consultants
• Deep knowledge of grading, drainage, stormwater, utilities, and earthwork for large-format sites
• Ability to identify civil cost and constructability risks during site selection

Preferred Qualifications

• PE license or active pursuit of licensure
• Experience in data center, industrial, or large-site development
• Proficiency with Civil 3D
• Experience with multi-state permitting
• Experience with conversion and retrofit sites
