Civil Designer

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D models using construction plans and shop drawings
• Serve as a primary resource for LiDAR data processing on KIE projects
• Work with point cloud data collected from mobile, terrestrial, and/or airborne methods
• Create surfaces from extracted feature lines or point cloud data
• Extract existing structures from point cloud data and provide updates to surface models
• Conduct quality control on deliverables and manage basis of design information
• Mentor Junior Designers as needed

Requirements

• Associate degree in CAD, 3D modeling, drafting, or a similar field
• 3-8 years of experience in computer-aided design, modeling, or drafting
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation Connect
• General knowledge of civil/structural engineering principles and materials
• Ability to comprehend civil/structural contract drawings
• Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize discrepancies
• Effective oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Trimble Business Center
• Survey experience on civil construction projects
• Experience modeling in Civil 3D and/or Bentley Open Roads Designer
• Experience with LiDAR extraction
