About the role

Responsibilities

  • Work with engineering teams to develop preliminary and final design plans and details for heavy civil construction.
  • Prepare design plans, technical reports, profiles, specifications, and estimates for transit, rail, and roadway projects.
  • Utilize software including MicroStation, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Open Rail/Open Roads Designer, and Civil 3D.
  • Participate in design reviews to evaluate concepts and provide recommendations.
  • Follow Transit Agency, Railroad, and DOT standards alongside company CAD standards.
  • Assist in the development of team software training materials and may help lead junior designers on specific tasks.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in computer-aided design, 3D modeling, drafting, survey, or a related program.
  • 2+ years of experience in computer-aided design, modeling, or drafting.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation (2D & 3D).
  • Experience with Civil 3D, Bentley Inroads, or Bentley Open Rail/Open Roads Designer.
  • General knowledge of civil engineering principles, materials, and the ability to comprehend engineering drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to recognize discrepancies in technical documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with additional 3D modeling tools such as Revit, Rhinoceros 3D, or Navisworks.
  • Experience working with AI agents and tools.
