Civil Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead civil design for water and wastewater infrastructure including treatment works, pumping stations, and pipelines
• Produce and check detailed design deliverables such as calculations, drawings, and specifications
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, CDM Regulations, and water company requirements
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to graduate and intermediate engineers
• Support project managers with cost, risk, and programme management
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, and process engineers

Requirements

• Degree (BEng/MEng) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Significant experience in civil design within the water or wastewater sector
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic structures, pipeline design, and concrete/structural design principles
• Experience working on UK water utility or infrastructure projects
• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience delivering projects under AMP frameworks
• Familiarity with BIM processes and digital delivery
• Design-and-build project experience
