Civil Construction Software Specialist

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of high-complexity support cases involving corridor design failures, mass haul discrepancies, and 3D modeling surface errors
• Provide advanced technical assistance and advise customers and resellers on best practices for data organization in WorksManager and TBC
• Perform system acceptance testing on new software features related to road design, takeoff, and data prep workflows
• Develop technical communications and "How-to" guides to populate the expert-level knowledge base
• Lead advanced training sessions and "Boot Camps" for resellers and internal teams to mentor junior staff

Requirements

• 2-3 years of industry experience as a Data Prep Technician, Pre Construction Specialist, 3D Modeler, or Estimator
• Proficiency in Trimble Business Center (TBC) or other industry-standard platforms like AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation, HCSS HeavyBid, or Agtek
• Deep understanding of surface modeling, mass haul analysis, subgrade logic, and earthwork optimization
• Experience with volumetric computations and the lifecycle of road design from survey data to final grade
• Ability to analyze and clean complex third-party data sets (DTM/TTM/XML)
• Strong understanding of the connection between office software and site positioning systems like GNSS and Total Stations

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced certifications or education in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Land Surveying
• Experience with Trimble’s connected site applications, specifically WorksManager and WorksOS platforms
• Proven track record of mentoring junior technical staff in high-pressure environments
