About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and strategy for Certification by defining program objectives and priorities
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison with the FAA and other Regulatory Authorities
  • Coordinate the execution of all activities, deliverables, and artifacts related to Type and Production Certification
  • Ensure products are compliant with FAA regulations, directives, policies, and guidance
  • Manage the generation and maintenance of Certification artifacts including PSCP, TC Application, and compliance checklists
  • Interpret FAA regulations and work with engineering to translate them into verifiable design requirements
  • Identify and manage Certification issues, risks, and special conditions
  • Manage the Civil Certification team and resource allocation
  • Participate in design reviews (PDR, CDR) and safety reviews

Requirements

  • B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • 15+ years of experience in aircraft certification, airworthiness, or regulatory compliance
  • Proven track record of managing an end-to-end Certification program (TC/ATC/STC)
  • Practical experience with 14 CFR Part 23, Part 25, Part 27, or Part 29
  • Experience with FAA Orders (8110 series), Advisory Circulars, ARP4754, and ARP4761
  • Experience with clean sheet design FAA Type Certification projects
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and familiarity with PLM tools like Enovia or 3DX

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on eVTOL aircraft
  • DER designation from the FAA
