Civil Architectural Technology - Prison Education - Part-Time (Adjunct) Faculty

Responsibilities

• Teach curriculum developed by the department, specifically in Architectural Graphics, Residential Electrical Systems, or OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety.
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning and safety within a correctional facility setting.
• Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies.
• Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, utilizing instructional technology where appropriate.
• Modify instructional methods to meet the needs of a diverse student population.
• Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner and maintain accurate records of student progress.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of student information.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, OR commensurate industry certification, OR an associate's degree with a minimum of five years of relevant work/teaching experience.
• Ability to teach face-to-face in a prison education setting at Madison Correctional Institution.
• Ability to pass a DRC background check.
• Must reside in or be able to perform work within Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work successfully in a culturally diverse community.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior teaching experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative instructional strategies.
• Proficiency in using modern educational technology and multimedia-based instruction.
