About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and daily management for the Veteran & Military Center (VMC), including supervision of staff and oversight of facility operations.
- Serve as the Program Director for the Leadership and Operations undergraduate reduced credit hour program, managing curriculum sequencing, scheduling, and student success.
- Teach and develop courses within the reduced credit hour program (maximum of one class per semester).
- Coordinate with university offices such as Financial Aid and the Bursar to streamline services for military-affiliated students.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with ROTC, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and other veteran-serving organizations.
- Lead the VMC Student Champion training program to promote military cultural awareness across campus.
Requirements
- Honorable discharge from active service in any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces.
- Master's degree.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in higher education, military, or veteran services environments.
- Deep knowledge of military education benefits and ROTC operations.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage budgets, staff, and facilities effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- 20 years of experience with military culture and systems (e.g., DoD/VA employment or leadership in veteran organizations).
- Two years of teaching experience in higher education, including course and program development.
- Experience as ROTC cadre, instructor, or a close liaison with ROTC units.
- Prior supervisory experience with military-connected advising or VA certification staff.
- Proven track record of building partnerships with the DoD, VA, and local communities.
