Circulation Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Supervise circulation staff and student workers, ensuring high standards of customer service at the Circulation Desk.
• Manage daily operations of the Circulation Department, including Course Reserves and material lending/return processes.
• Collaborate with the Systems Librarian to maintain library management systems and ensure efficient technology performance.
• Maintain patron records and generate weekly and monthly circulation statistics and reports.
• Oversee print management accounts and serve as a liaison with the IT department.
• Train staff and student workers on library systems, policies, equipment use, and circulation procedures.
• Support library outreach efforts and maintain physical collection accessibility through effective stacks maintenance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Proven ability to effectively supervise, train, and manage employees in a collaborative environment.
• Proficiency with standard office productivity software (word processing, spreadsheets, email, and cloud-based applications).
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a library setting.
• Familiarity with Integrated Library Systems (ILS), specifically ByWater Koha.
• Knowledge of circulation and library management principles and techniques.
• Understanding of the role and purpose of an academic library within a university environment.
