About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide general chiropody services to high-risk patients with diabetes
- Mentor and provide clinical instruction to other health professionals in diabetic foot care
- Act as a resource person to staff, students, and the community regarding foot care
- Demonstrate competency in professional practice and hospital-based standards
- Work within an inter-professional team-based model for clinical practice and program planning
- Maintain fiscal responsibility within funding boundaries
Requirements
- Recognized diploma in Chiropody
- Current registration and member in good standing with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario
- Wound care certification from the Canadian Association of Wound Care
- Experience with mentoring and teaching
- Valid driver’s license and access to own vehicle
- Ability to travel to multiple foot care sites within Halton and surrounding areas
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Health Care Professionals who have taken the foot care course
- Knowledge of Self-Management Principles
- Experience providing education in group settings
