Chip Mill Operator

Responsibilities

• Safely operate assigned equipment including knuckle booms, front-end loaders, grapple loaders, and bulldozers
• Troubleshoot and operate woodyard equipment such as debarkers, chippers, bark hogs, chains, and conveyance systems
• Operate computers and HMI screens to monitor and correct operational values
• Perform daily checks, preventive maintenance, and basic repairs on chip mill machinery
• Maintain, replace, and repair chipper parts including clamps, holders, wear segments, and knives
• Complete required paperwork and escalate issues promptly for resolution
• Coordinate housekeeping to meet company standards

Requirements

• Internal company certification
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal job instructions
• Proficiency in mathematics and measurement
• Ability to work with little to no supervision
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions
• Ability to climb ladders up to 50 feet, lift up to 50 pounds, and operate heavy equipment requiring extended sitting
• Ability to bend, squat, climb, and lift items above shoulders occasionally

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledgeable and experienced with heavy equipment operation in a similar industry
• High school diploma or GED
