Chinese Language-Enabled Analyst/Operator

Responsibilities

• Conduct open-source research in Chinese on wide-ranging topics using primary, secondary, and social media sources
• Process, translate, and analyze large amounts of unorganized Chinese-language data with high accuracy
• Convey socio-cultural meaning and real-world cultural dynamics embedded in text
• Identify and combine information from multiple databases into polished analytic products in source and subject language
• Provide ad hoc language and cultural support to customers and project teams
• Learn and utilize COTS/GOTS tools as needed
• Travel occasionally within the Washington Metropolitan Area for meetings and exchanges

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with ability to obtain a polygraph
• Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) score of 3 or higher
• Strong critical thinking and analytic skills
• Capability to translate in real time
• In-depth knowledge of the geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural landscape of the Chinese language area

Preferred Qualifications

• DLPT score of 3+
• Experience writing reports and conducting Chinese deep-dive research
• Training in data collection, analysis, and integration
• Basic familiarity with Linux-based operating systems
