About the role
Responsibilities
- Undertake child-focused casework practice, including assessment and case planning, in collaboration with government agencies, carers, and families
- Provide ongoing support and supervision to Foster and Kinship Carers through home visits and telephone support
- Support the development, implementation, and review of Cultural Support Plans
- Assist carers to actively participate in the case planning process and implement agreed strategies
- Ensure appropriate risk assessments, safety plans, and behavioural support plans are completed and maintained
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant records within the CIRTS database
Requirements
- A recognised Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related human services field
- Demonstrated experience in child protection or an out-of-home care environment
- Strong understanding of Queensland child protection legislation, standards of care, and permanency principles
- Experience working with children and families using a strength-based, culturally responsive approach
- Knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural frameworks and practice
- High-level written and verbal communication skills
- A current, unrestricted driver's licence
