Child & Family Practitioner

Responsibilities

• Undertake child-focused casework practice, including assessment and case planning, in collaboration with government agencies, carers, and families
• Provide ongoing support and supervision to Foster and Kinship Carers through home visits and telephone support
• Support the development, implementation, and review of Cultural Support Plans
• Assist carers to actively participate in the case planning process and implement agreed strategies
• Ensure appropriate risk assessments, safety plans, and behavioural support plans are completed and maintained
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant records within the CIRTS database

Requirements

• A recognised Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related human services field
• Demonstrated experience in child protection or an out-of-home care environment
• Strong understanding of Queensland child protection legislation, standards of care, and permanency principles
• Experience working with children and families using a strength-based, culturally responsive approach
• Knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural frameworks and practice
• High-level written and verbal communication skills
• A current, unrestricted driver's licence
