About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality early childhood education and care for children ages two months to six years old
- Supervise indoor and outdoor activities, including toileting, meals, snacks, and nap time
- Assist with the preparation of meals and follow instructions regarding food safety and kitchen appliance use
- Direct classroom staff in the overall program in the absence of Lead and Assistant Lead teachers
- Work cooperatively with other staff members to maintain a total child care program
- Act quickly and appropriately in hazardous situations to prevent accidents and provide first aid
- Resolve conflicts effectively with both children and adults
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in the field of early childhood education
- 12 ECE units and three units of Infant Development coursework
- CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing - Associate Teacher-level permit (or higher)
- Pediatric CPR and first aid certification
- Ability to lift and carry children up to 40 pounds frequently
- Ability to communicate effectively in English with children, staff, and parents
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Child Development
- Experience using kitchen utensils and appliances safely for meal preparation
