Child Care Support Worker

Responsibilities

• Provide input into planning and assist with the implementation of age-based activities to promote social interaction and personal development
• Monitor child development and provide regular feedback
• Assist with risk management, including food safety, medication storage, allergy monitoring, and facility cleanliness
• Ensure full compliance with child protection legislation and intervene when necessary
• Role model appropriate behaviors and attitudes for children
• Report property damage, mechanical breakdowns, or identified needs to the Program Director

Requirements

• Completed Secondary School diploma
• Minimum of 6 months of experience working with children
• Current Standard First Aid & CPR Certification
• Current Safe Food Handling Certification
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
• Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector background check
• Ability to meet health assessment and immunization requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Early Childhood Education (ECE) Diploma
• Previous experience in a day camp setting
• Experience working with special populations
• Fluency in French (verbal and written)
