Chief Technology Officer

Responsibilities

• Define the future engineering strategy and own enterprise technology and architectural direction.
• Shape the developer ecosystem by establishing standards, culture, tooling, and working practices.
• Implement an AI-first engineering philosophy, embedding agentic programming to amplify engineering velocity.
• Partner with the CEO, CPO, and COO to ensure the product roadmap is technically sound and delivered at pace.
• Assess venture viability by partnering with IO Labs to determine the technical feasibility of new research and ideas.
• Lead the technology function at an enterprise level, managing budgets for infrastructure, tooling, and AI compute.
• Act as the primary external technical voice for the company at conferences, investor forums, and key partnerships.
• Build and mentor a world-class engineering bench through a Centre of Excellence model.

Requirements

• Progressive technology leadership experience, including significant time in senior or executive technical roles.
• Deep expertise in Web3 technologies, blockchain, or distributed systems.
• Proven track record in high-growth blockchain, technology, or venture environments.
• Deep familiarity with formal verification methods, cryptographic correctness, and zero-knowledge proof systems.
• Experience leading technical due diligence for acquisitions, partnerships, and venture investments.
• Strong systems thinking with the ability to manage a large, distributed developer ecosystem.
• Hands-on technical credibility with the ability to review engineering work and commit code.
• Exceptional ability to translate complex technical concepts for boards, investors, and non-technical executives.
