Chief Technician, Mechanical

Responsibilities

• Lead in-house mechanical design activities supporting multiple development programmes
• Deliver mechanical design work across all lifecycle phases including concept, detailed design, manufacturing, and production
• Perform precise engineering calculations, theoretical analysis, and computational simulations
• Devise and implement engineering arrangements, revisions, and configuration updates
• Develop test specifications, procedures, and verification plans to ensure design compliance
• Evaluate mechanical equipment performance against technical, functional, and environmental criteria
• Mentor, guide, and monitor mechanical engineers to support team capability development
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical challenges

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
• 10 to 21 years of relevant experience based on qualification level (M.Tech, B.Tech, T3, or NTC5)
• Advanced proficiency in CAD tools and Product Data Management (PDM) systems
• Strong working knowledge of mechanical engineering within aerospace or guided munition development
• Proven ability to manage tight deadlines and high-pressure technical environments
• Excellent technical communication skills for interacting with engineers and suppliers
