Chief Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead large technical teams to meet complex defense customer requirements
• Represent the company as the primary technical expert to customers, suppliers, and management
• Synthesize requirements into low-risk technical solutions
• Produce comprehensive technical documentation for customers and engineering teams
• Provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams and report technical status to varied audiences
• Evaluate technical performance of individual performers and assume responsibility for team output
• Recommend training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities

Requirements

• 20-25 years of experience at US DoD Primes or companies directly supporting them
• Expert knowledge of systems engineering tools DOORS and Cameo
• Working knowledge of JIRA, Clearquest, and Rational Development Tools
• Ability to operate and debug Linux and VxWorks based computing systems
• Solid understanding of SOSA and VPX system design standards
• Proficiency with serial communication protocols (MIL-STD-1553, RS422, RS485, RS232, 10G/100G Ethernet, PCIe, USB)
• Knowledge of system hardware/software development, integration, and testing for military vehicle applications
• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience conducting System Safety Assessment, Functional Hazard assessment, and FMEA
• Previous experience with RTCA/DO-254/DO-178 processes and FAA Certification
