Chief Operating Officer

Responsibilities

• Partner with the CEO and executive team to develop and execute organizational goals and strategic plans.
• Translate strategic objectives into actionable operational plans with clear milestones and accountability.
• Evaluate and optimize processes across functional areas, including Product Development, Research & Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Customer Support.
• Establish and monitor KPIs to track progress and report on operating results.
• Ensure company operations comply with local, state, and federal laws, including FDA and GMP standards.
• Collaborate with the CFO to manage operational budgets, resource allocation, and cost-control measures.
• Build and lead high-performing operational teams, providing coaching and mentorship to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Represent the company to external stakeholders, including partners, investors, and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or PhD) in Business Administration, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in operational management.
• At least 5 years of experience in a senior executive leadership role (VP or C-suite) with multi-unit responsibility.
• Proven experience managing operations within FDA-regulated or GMP environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Extensive experience within the biotechnology or life sciences industry.
• Demonstrated expertise in change management and scaling business processes.
• Strong financial acumen with significant P&L management experience.
