About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary advisor to the Commissioner on agency matters and strategic development
- Implement and monitor short and medium-term organizational strategies
- Coordinate intra-agency projects and establish a project management culture
- Oversee administration of legislative affairs, public matters, and communications
- Lead efforts to improve business processes and organizational sustainability
- Review staffing trends and devise strategies to reduce turnover
- Act as a liaison to agency staff, government entities, and the general public
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college
- Minimum of 10 years of full-time executive and managerial experience
- Proven supervisory experience leading individuals and organizational teams
- Proficiency in resolving personnel conflicts and written/verbal communication
- Ability to analyze policy actions and impact
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate degree in business administration, public policy, urban planning, or law
- Experience in operations research, policy advocacy, or urban development
- Experience in state or national veteran advocacy
- Veteran status
