About the Company

Magrathea is a global category leader in critical mineral production technology based in Oakland, California. The company is developing a next-generation electrolytic process to produce magnesium metal from seawater and brines, aiming to secure the magnesium supply base for defense, aerospace, and clean energy industries.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a force multiplier for the CEO and CTO by driving high-priority, ambiguous problems to completion
• Process contracts, prepare presentations, and develop financial reporting for investors and the board
• Support operating finance including tax, payroll, reporting, and audits
• Steward company human resources policies
• Implement AI tools across the organization
• Own cross-functional execution across operations, engineering, commercial, finance, and recruiting
• Manage vendor, contractor, and partner relationships through to completion

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in high-accountability environments (industrial startups, manufacturing, energy, defense, aerospace, or military)
• Strong technical fluency to work with engineers and operators
• Proven ability to turn ambiguous problems into clear plans and outcomes
• Experience in contract and commercial agreement negotiation
• Exceptional written communication and project management skills
• Strong bias toward action and ability to operate without a playbook

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in chemical processing, metals, or mining
• Experience in energy infrastructure or advanced manufacturing
• Experience in project finance, EPC, or government funding programs
