Chief of Staff

Responsibilities

• Serve as a sounding board for the CEO on scientific research directions and technical tradeoffs
• Pressure-test scientific and technical decisions before they reach the executive team or board
• Translate complex scientific questions into clear strategic plans and priorities
• Prepare the CEO for high-stakes conversations with investors, the board, and collaborators
• Own preparation for board meetings, investor updates, and fundraising materials
• Act as connective tissue between the CEO, executive team, and the wider company
• Drive critical decisions to closure and ensure organizational alignment

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive experience, including roles as a founder, Chief of Staff, or senior operator
• PhD or equivalent hands-on training in a scientific or AI domain
• Experience shaping technical or scientific decisions in high-growth environments
• Ability to operate without a playbook in an ambiguous, fast-scaling environment
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to draft executive-level materials
• High emotional intelligence and ability to build trust across diverse teams
• Ability to work onsite in Cambridge, MA
