Chief of Staff

About the Company

American Terawatt is building a new industrial electric grid for the United States. We design and deploy advanced power transmission systems, serving large industrial loads, hundreds of megawatts at a time, using long-distance HVDC transmission and software-defined ‘Macrogrids’.

Responsibilities

• Stand up new functions from zero to one, owning them until they're ready to hand off
• Assess feasibility of new and special projects
• Act as a strategic sounding board and proxy for the CEO across the organization
• Identify and clear organizational frictions, gaps, and information breakdowns
• Track and drive the company's most important strategic priorities
• Build trust with teams across the organization and support the CEO in keeping them unblocked

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in high-performance environments (startups, consulting, finance, engineering, military, or similar)
• Demonstrated execution ability across complex projects
• Background in a technical discipline such as electrical, mechanical, or other engineering discipline
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in energy, infrastructure, or hardware-intensive industries
• Prior experience in a chief of staff, strategy, or operations role
• Previous experience as a startup founder
