About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership and strategic direction for Faculty Academic Affairs, Graduate Education, Unit Staff Leadership, Human Resources, and Dean's Office operations.
  • Serve as a member of the Dean's Cabinet, advising senior leadership on long-range strategic plans, policy formation, and complex institutional challenges.
  • Design and implement scalable, sustainable administrative solutions that support the college's academic mission.
  • Lead strategies to foster professional development and leadership access for a diverse workforce.
  • Drive continuous improvement by optimizing organizational processes, engagement, and communication.
  • Cultivate high-trust relationships across a decentralized organization to drive consensus and transparency.
  • Act as a strategic bridge between University, College, and Departmental initiatives.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a related field or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in large, complex organizations.
  • Proven track record of working directly with executive-level leadership (e.g., Deans, Provosts, or Presidents).
  • Experience translating high-level strategic vision into operational reality and scalable initiatives.
  • Advanced analytical skills and the ability to use independent judgment to navigate institutional challenges.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Experience handling highly sensitive and confidential matters with professional integrity.
  • Demonstrated success in supervision and driving results through effective delegation and professional growth.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree or formal training in organizational leadership, change management, or industrial-organizational psychology.
  • Deep operational familiarity with a major research university or higher education system.
  • Proven experience designing and facilitating high-impact workshops or executive training programs.
