Chief Nursing Informatics Officer & Executive Director

Responsibilities

• Serve as the strategic liaison within Information Technology representing the nursing community and patient care team needs.
• Create a cross-organizational vision and communications strategy for nursing and clinical informatics.
• Develop nursing and clinical informatics strategies related to technology procurement, implementation, maintenance, and optimization.
• Lead the expansion and optimization of nursing informatics within the Epic EHR to improve processes, efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Collaborate with senior nursing, medical informatics, and operational leaders to support quality patient care and professional practice.
• Incorporate nursing research and evidence-based knowledge into informatics practice.
• Participate in the development of operating and capital budgets for nursing technology.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Nursing Informatics or a related Nursing/Healthcare field.
• 15+ years of experience in an academic medical center environment.
• 5+ years of progressive leadership and oversight of clinical informatics and nursing infrastructure.
• Significant experience with Epic EHR and a proven record of accomplishments in an Epic environment.
• Current RN license, or eligibility for licensure in the state of Illinois.
• Strong executive presence with superior listening, written, and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Post Graduate Informatics certification.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle, Agile, Lean, and Six Sigma processes.
