About the role
Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct the operation and maintenance of the Bureau’s marine vessels
- Lead technical staff in the Marine Section
- Maintain engine room logs and operational records
- Ensure compliance with federal and departmental regulations
- Oversee fuel storage, use, and onboard safety program responsibilities
Requirements
- Valid Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) with Chief Engineer Limited endorsement for motor vessels
- License for vessels of not less than 6000 H.P. or higher
- Valid TWIC within 30 days of appointment
- Ability to pass Coast Guard medical exam and drug screening
- Maintain all required licenses and credentials during employment
