About the role

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct the operation and maintenance of the Bureau’s marine vessels
  • Lead technical staff in the Marine Section
  • Maintain engine room logs and operational records
  • Ensure compliance with federal and departmental regulations
  • Oversee fuel storage, use, and onboard safety program responsibilities

Requirements

  • Valid Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) with Chief Engineer Limited endorsement for motor vessels
  • License for vessels of not less than 6000 H.P. or higher
  • Valid TWIC within 30 days of appointment
  • Ability to pass Coast Guard medical exam and drug screening
  • Maintain all required licenses and credentials during employment
