Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary internal expert on US digital asset regulation (SEC, CFTC, FinCEN, OFAC).
• Manage global regulatory posture across UK (FCA), EU (MiCA/DORA), and APAC jurisdictions.
• Lead regulatory engagement, respond to inquiries, and manage investigations.
• Oversee AML/KYC programme integrity in collaboration with the Head of Compliance.
• Provide legal review for product launches, feature expansions, and go-to-market activities.
• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts including partnerships, exchange listings, and API agreements.
• Advise on data privacy (GDPR, CCPA) and consumer protection requirements.
• Advise on corporate governance and board matters.
• Lead the company's response to litigation, class actions, and law enforcement requests.
• Oversee IP strategy and manage cross-border corporate structuring.
• Manage and develop outside counsel relationships.

Requirements

• JD from an accredited US law school.
• Admitted to the New York Bar or eligible for admission on motion.
• 10+ years of legal experience in top-tier law firms and in-house roles within crypto, fintech, or regulated financial services.
• Deep knowledge of US digital asset regulation and international frameworks (FCA, MiCA, FATF).
• Experience managing litigation, regulatory investigations, and enforcement actions.
• Proficiency with GDPR/CCPA, AML/sanctions compliance, and consumer protection.
• Ability to operate in high-growth, high-ambiguity environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional UK or international legal qualifications.
• Experience in startup or high-growth company environments.
