About the role
Responsibilities
- Direct the City's enterprise information systems, including IT governance, integrated infrastructure, and data integrity
- Supervise, direct, and evaluate assigned staff, including performance appraisals and professional development
- Develop, establish, and implement technology goals and objectives consistent with City strategies
- Prepare and manage the City's technology budgets and oversee all technology purchases and cost containment efforts
- Direct all City technology projects to ensure they meet business needs and align with current IT architecture
- Consult with City management to provide strategic information technology recommendations
- Stay current with technology advances, trends, and issues to evaluate risks and relevance
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Public Administration, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in information technology
- 3+ years of experience in a Senior IT Leadership role
- 2 years of management experience
- Valid State of Florida driver’s license
- In-depth understanding of municipal or public sector operations, policies, and regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field
- Certified Government CIO (CGCIO)
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- ITIL Certification
