About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and own a comprehensive HR strategy aligned with rapid growth and an expanding store footprint
- Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, and labor trends
- Lead the redesign of hiring and onboarding processes and high-volume recruitment strategies
- Assess and recommend consolidation of HR, payroll, and onboarding systems
- Ensure full compliance with Texas and federal employment laws, including FLSA, OSHA, and TWC requirements
- Oversee compensation structures, benefits administration, and performance incentive programs
- Lead, mentor, and develop the existing HR team and internal succession pipelines
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline
- 15+ years of progressive HR experience, including executive or enterprise leadership levels
- SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent professional HR certification
- Experience in high-growth, privately-held, or entrepreneurial business environments
- Direct experience in the retail, convenience store, travel center, or multi-site fuel sector
- Deep knowledge of Texas and federal employment law
- Proven track record of building HR policies, systems, and processes from the ground up
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in HR Management, MBA, or a related field
- Familiarity with major HR and payroll platforms (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Workday, Paycor)
- Experience partnering with legal counsel on complex employment matters
- Background in managing a distributed hourly workforce across multiple locations
Benefits
- Base Salary: $145,000 to $185,000 (dependent on experience)
