Chief Engineer/Plant Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians
• Oversee maintenance of plant machinery, boilers, chillers, and cooling towers
• Implement preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime
• Develop and manage the engineering department budget
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and regulatory standards
• Manage engineering projects from conception to completion
• Troubleshoot and resolve engineering-related issues
• Lead safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations

Requirements

• 7-10 years of experience in engineering management
• 3-5 years in a leadership role
• Strong technical knowledge of plant systems and equipment
• Experience with budgeting, cost control, and project management
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and local safety regulations
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Building Automated Systems (BAS)
• Maryland 1st Grade Engineer certification
• Valid state driver’s license
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in cramped spaces

Preferred Qualifications

• A/B underground storage tank operator certification
