Aalo Atomics is pioneering a new era in clean energy with factory-fabricated microreactors designed to deliver affordable, scalable, and reliable nuclear power. Based in Austin, TX, we’re rapidly growing as we work to deploy the world’s first fleet of advanced microreactors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering process from Preliminary Design through Final Design closure
  • Manage all Module Owners across seven reactor product lines
  • Enforce configuration control and the drawing release system
  • Oversee the manufacturing package, including BOM, work instructions, and assembly plans
  • Execute Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) protocols and criteria
  • Author and defend technical safety submittals (FSAR or DSA) to regulators
  • Walk the factory floor daily to resolve technical issues at the workpiece
  • Recruit, mentor, and scale high-performing engineering teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, nuclear, aerospace, or electrical engineering
  • 15+ years of engineering experience in highly regulated, safety-critical hardware industries
  • Proven experience as a senior technical leader on major hardware programs
  • Experience releasing engineering drawings and owning FAT outcomes
  • Familiarity with ASME Section III, ASME NQA-1, or ASME Y14.5
  • Experience defending technical positions before federal regulators (NRC, DOE, etc.)
  • Track record of leading engineering teams of 50+ people
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person in compliance with 10 CFR Part 810
  • Must be willing to work on-site in Austin, Texas

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with modular, factory-built, or transportable nuclear systems
  • Experience in a fast-paced, venture-backed hardware startup
  • Background combining design authority with industrial operating experience
  • Experience integrating advanced manufacturing methodologies in regulated environments
