Chief Engineer

Responsibilities

• Fulfill vessel Chief Engineer job duties and additional shore-based responsibilities
• Perform preventive and routine maintenance of vessels, equipment, and docks
• Conduct repairs to engines, pumps, motors, and other critical systems
• Maintain necessary technical paperwork and documentation
• Assist Chief Engineers and vendors with repairs underway or at the dock
• Troubleshoot technical problems and train junior engineers
• Communicate company standards and policies to vendors

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2-3 years of engine room experience
• Working knowledge of welding, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in confined spaces
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to live and work for a minimum of 14 days aboard a towboat or dock facility
• Proficiency with MS Outlook
