Chief Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Respond promptly to guest requests and service calls in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces
• Maintain the property’s physical appearance including painting, carpentry, and lighting
• Assist with preventative maintenance programs and ensure equipment efficiency
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve building system malfunctions
• Maintain accurate logs of maintenance requests, completed work, and inspections
• Collaborate with outside contractors and vendors
• Adhere to safety protocols and Marriott standards
• Assist with emergency procedures including fire alarms and power outages

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in hotel or facility maintenance preferred
• Familiarity with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building systems
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks like climbing ladders and standing for extended periods
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts
• Excellent communication skills and a guest-focused attitude
