About the role
Responsibilities
- Design and lead the structure of the Development department to support a $35M+ revenue base
- Develop and own the multi-year development strategy and annual revenue goals
- Serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team providing expertise on philanthropy and revenue strategy
- Lead the design and implementation of core Development processes including moves management and donor stewardship
- Optimize the Development technology ecosystem including Salesforce CRM and marketing automation
- Oversee diverse revenue functions including Major Gifts, Capital Campaigns, Corporate/Foundation Grants, and Direct Marketing
- Manage and develop a high-performing team of senior development leaders
- Act as a strategic advisor to the President and staff the Board Development Committee
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field
- 12+ years of progressive nonprofit development experience
- 5+ years in a senior leadership role overseeing multi-channel fundraising
- Proven track record of building development infrastructure for organizations with $25M+ annual revenue
- Deep expertise in Salesforce CRM administration and development operations
- Experience leading or supporting capital campaigns of $25M+
- Experience overseeing large-scale direct marketing or direct response programs
- Proven success managing teams of 8+ professionals
- Strong financial acumen and experience with revenue forecasting
- Ability to travel overnight several times per year
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree
- Experience with military, Veteran, or military-family-focused organizations
- CFRE, ACFRE, or equivalent professional credential
