About the role
Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of attorneys within the Compliance Unit
- Provide high-level legal counsel to various City departments including Human Services, Public Safety, and Police
- Advise on policies, agency strategies, and initiatives impacting City legal liability
- Implement and manage compliance activities and monitor City agency oversight
- Lead ongoing risk assessments of clients' compliance policies and procedures
- Coordinate with Law Department leadership and City officials on major licensure and administrative issues
Requirements
- Minimum of 9 years of experience in legal counsel and advice or compliance work
- At least 4 years of supervisory and management experience on major projects
- Law degree from an ABA accredited law school
- Member in good standing of the Pennsylvania Bar or eligible for admission by reciprocity
- Ability to work onsite 5 days per week in Philadelphia
- Must become a Philadelphia resident within six months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of compliance experience with a governmental or corporate entity
- Expertise in substantive areas such as ADA, HIPAA, or Sunshine Act
- Knowledge of City procedures
