Chief AI Architect

Responsibilities

• Define Scotiabank's enterprise AI solution architecture, including canonical reference architectures, solution patterns, and integration blueprints for GenAI and agentic AI.
• Lead the Enterprise AI and Agentic Solution Architecture group, setting architectural direction and developing talent from Senior to Principal levels.
• Translate enterprise AI strategy into technical decisions regarding platform capability mapping, data architecture dependencies, and deployment topology.
• Represent the bank's AI architecture externally through engagement with regulatory bodies like OSFI and participation in industry standards forums.
• Establish design authority governance to ensure AI solutions are production-viable, governed, and aligned with enterprise business outcomes.

Requirements

• 12+ years of technology and architecture experience.
• 5+ years as the architecture authority for AI, data, or platform initiatives within a Tier 1 financial institution or equivalent scale.
• Deep mastery of enterprise AI solution architecture, including LLM integration, MLOps, Cloud Architecture, and agentic workflow composition.
• Expertise in enterprise integration patterns, such as event-driven integration and API management for AI-augmented workflows.
• Proven ability to translate regulatory requirements (e.g., OSFI E-23, SR 11-7) into embedded architectural controls.
• Experience leading an architecture function and operating as a technical peer to senior technology executives.
