About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership across revenue generation, business administration, operations, and resource stewardship for the Faculty.
- Lead the development and implementation of administrative strategies covering Finance, HR, I&IT, Data/AI governance, Facilities, and Risk Management.
- Provide strategic advice and policy interpretation to the Dean, Associate Deans, and Faculty leadership.
- Represent the Faculty in consultations with University units to advocate for Faculty priorities and ensure policy compliance.
- Manage administrative staff within the Office of the CAO and foster a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Oversee complex, cross-functional initiatives within a shared governance and collegial decision-making environment.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or an equivalent combination of education and experience in finance, administration, operations, or HR.
- Minimum of 8 years of senior leadership experience overseeing broad operations portfolios (finance, HR, IT, and facilities).
- Extensive expertise in financial planning, multiyear budget development, forecasting, and stewardship of public funds.
- Proven experience working effectively in a unionized environment, including knowledge of collective agreements and labour relations.
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic advice to senior leaders and implement policies aligned with institutional priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA designation.
- Experience supporting applied academic research, particularly in wet lab environments or with applied technologies.
- Familiarity with artificial intelligence (AI) and related data governance.
- Knowledge of University of Toronto policies and governance structures.
