Chess Instructor

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students using a structured curriculum
• Teach chess fundamentals, promote good sportsmanship, and encourage critical thinking
• Manage a lively classroom with confidence, positivity, and adherence to school safety protocols
• Travel to various local school sites and arrive on time prepared for each session

Requirements

• Experience working with groups of children in teaching, tutoring, coaching, or similar settings
• Strong grasp of chess fundamentals with ability to explain strategy in an age-appropriate way
• Comfortable leading classes independently with a professional, upbeat, and kid-friendly demeanor
• Reliable personal transportation and ability to drive between school locations
• Availability on weekday afternoons between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM to teach 1–5 classes per week
• Strong punctuality, time-management skills, and commitment to student safety
