Chess Instructor

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students using a structured curriculum
• Teach chess fundamentals, basic strategy, and simple tactics in an age-appropriate way
• Manage classroom behavior and create a positive, engaging learning environment
• Follow school safety protocols during arrival, dismissal, and in-class activities
• Travel to various local school sites in the Kennett Square area for scheduled sessions

Requirements

• Experience working with groups of children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, or camp counseling)
• Strong grasp of chess fundamentals with ability to explain concepts clearly
• Comfortable leading a class independently and creating interactive sessions
• Reliable personal transportation to travel between school locations
• Availability on weekday afternoons between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM
• Professional, positive, and kid-friendly demeanor
