Chemistry Outreach Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Provide Science In Motion (SIM) chemistry education services three days per week in accordance with Pennsylvania Department of Education contracts
• Coordinate and implement outreach initiatives and lab programs for local school districts
• Hire, train, and supervise Juniata College student employees
• Oversee the scheduling, delivery, and maintenance of outreach equipment
• Serve as a consultant to local teachers to support and enhance science education in the classroom

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Education, or a related scientific discipline
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver’s license (clear of major violations)
• Ability to perform physical tasks including unloading/reloading vehicles and lifting up to 50 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working in educational outreach or similar programs
• Pennsylvania teaching certification
• Classroom teaching experience
