Chemist Technologist

Responsibilities

• Independently manage and lead the development of new, commercially viable cosmetic products in a cross-functional environment.
• Design new cosmetic products and testing strategies, while resolving development problems.
• Prepare lab batches to track performance and stability, conducting necessary testing and collecting technical data.
• Propose and execute strategies for product testing, including efficacy, claims support, and product integrity.
• Collaborate with Marketing, R&D, Packaging, Regulatory, and ingredient suppliers to ensure timely product approval.
• Develop innovative product demonstrations and claim expansions to meet consumer needs and industry trends.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or an equivalent scientific discipline.
• 3-5 years of product formulation or related bench experience, OR a Ph.D. with 0-5 years of industry experience.
• Technical knowledge of chemistry, polymers, colorants, emulsions, surfactants, and other cosmetic raw materials.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Ability to work independently and within a matrix team in a fast-paced, flexible environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence peers and key decision-makers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of consumer insights related to product development.
• Experience demonstrating technologies as they relate to the consumer experience.
• Experience in assessing and developing intellectual property.
