Chemist

Responsibilities

• Collect sewage, process, utility, and product samples from various plant locations according to established protocols.
• Conduct chemical, physical, and microbiological analyses using standard laboratory instruments such as pH meters, spectrophotometers, and titrators.
• Provide analytical data to operations and maintenance teams to monitor system performance and effluent discharge.
• Identify and alert relevant departments regarding out-of-specification parameters.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments according to schedule.
• Maintain detailed records of testing, results, and deviations using LIMS or manual logbooks.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, including ISO certification requirements.
• Follow all laboratory safety protocols regarding the handling and disposal of hazardous materials.

Requirements

• UAE National status is required for this position.
• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in an industrial or operations laboratory (e.g., sewage or water treatment plants, manufacturing, or oil & gas).
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
• Knowledge of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ISO/QA certification documentation and procedures.
• Relevant certifications in safety training or chemical handling.
