About the role

Responsibilities

  • Analyze analytical samples using correct procedures and methods
  • Monitor technical accuracy of results and take remedial action
  • Generate reports detailing analytical results, opinions, and interpretations
  • Verify, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and apparatus
  • Transfer data from instruments to LIMS and ensure traceability
  • Calculate test results according to standard formats and instructions
  • Assist with training new staff and operators on new methods
  • Oversee laboratory cleaning and ensure compliance with Health and Safety procedures
  • Manage shift attendance and timekeeping

Requirements

  • Minimum BSc or N Diploma in Chemistry
  • At least 2 years of laboratory experience with a Diploma or 5 years with a BSc
  • Proficiency in LIMS, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Knowledge of Laboratory Quality Management Systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and coordinate a team
