Chemist I

Responsibilities

• Complete analysis of waste stream samples per SOPs and waste analysis plans
• Manage inventory control for lab reagents
• Maintain samples, instruments, and laboratory equipment
• Perform data entry of quantities, volumes, and analytical results into waste management software
• Execute QA/QC analytical screening parameters as dictated by permits
• Ensure compliance with environmental health and safety standards regarding chemical handling, storage, and disposal

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or biology
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to complete 40-hour OSHA training

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of bench experience in analytical chemistry
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations
• 2+ years of experience in the hazardous waste industry
