Chemist I

Responsibilities

• Follow permit requirements to collect and test compounds and samples using applied methods and techniques
• Enter quantities, volumes, and analytical results into waste management software
• Perform QA/QC analytical screening parameters as dictated by permit
• Follow all approved Laboratory SOPs
• Ensure compliance with environmental health and safety standards, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemical agents
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
• Manage inventory control for lab reagents and perform data entry and administrative activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or biology
• Ability to work in a team and fast-paced environment
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to complete 40-hour OSHA training

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of bench experience in analytical chemistry
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations
• 2+ years of experience in the hazardous waste industry
